Let us examine the reasons for each of this important requirement.
Criteria 1: Balance and regulate our hormonal                    system. What is a hormone?

Hormones control the operation of every organ in our bodies like:
How fast our heart beats.
How much urine our kidneys produce.
How much sperm our sex organ produces.
How much cholesterol our liver manufactures.
Our bodies naturally produce more than 22 different types of major hormones every second of our lives to control all our organs. We will die without these natural hormones. Our organs will quickly go out of control when some of these hormones are imbalanced or unregulated.

Simple analogy
Our body is like a large factory with plenty of different machines (our organs) but a lack of factory workers (our hormones) to operate these machines. Sooner or later, these machines (our organs) when allowed to run unsupervised will malfunction or totally breakdown. Then the factory (our body) closes down as a result.
Criteria 2: Nourish every internal organ by ensuring                    proper nutrient absorption.

Each organ requires nutrition to work properly. However, as we age most nutrients that are consumed cannot reach its intended organs because our body lacks hormones. Hormones act as a transporter for these nutrients. It transports all nutrients to their intended destination.

Simple Analogy.
Our factory (our body) with full of machineries (our organs) needs constant supply of coolant, water, machine oil, grease and electricity to run properly. When there is insufficient number of technical staff (our hormones), those factory machines (our organs) do not get their supply of coolant, water and machine oil (our nutrition) to run smoothly. At the end of the day, the machines (our organs) will start to give problems.
Criteria 3: Adequate Rest and Sleep
Our body can only repair itself during sleep. Very few cellular or organ repairs take place during daytime. That is the reason why doctors advise us to stay in bed and get more sleep when we are sick.

Simple Analogy.
Most of the time, the factory workers (our hormones) can only start to carefully service and repair the machines (our organs) when the factory (our body) is closed at night.
Criteria 4: Stress Management
Our organ functions best when it is stress free. High level of stress has been clinically proven to make us grow old very quickly.

Simple analogy.
A factory machine which is operated at high speed will breakdown faster than a machine idling at very low speed.
CAN COMMERCIAL HEALTH FOOD PRODUCTS ACHIEVE ALL OF THE ABOVE? NO!

Although most health foods in the market can reduce stress and make you feel more relaxed but they cannot balance your hormones and make sure that the nutrients you consume (example spirulina, rice, eggs, soy milk) successfully reaches the intended organs for nourishment.

Since commercial health foods cannot achieve all of the 4 crucial criteria mentioned, they cannot be considered as an anti-aging product.

Example:
Calcium tablets (a commercial health food supplement) cannot be considered as an effective anti-aging product, because simply consuming calcium supplements will not guarantee that they reach the bones. Even if they reach the bones there is still no guarantee that calcium is absorbed and utilized by it.

In order for proper absorption of calcium by the bones, hormones such as calcitonin, estrogen and progesterone must be present at all times. Hormones are very important.
